Description
Floppy Disc
As the technology world moved away from punch cards, a new floppy medium arrived to store the huge files that the new breed of microcomputers were capable of producing, sometimes those files would fill kilobytes of storage, minuscule by 21st Century standards.
The first floppy discs arrived with a disc diameter of eight inches before giving way to 5¼-inch and then 3½-inch, all with a magnetic disc contained in either a flexible or rigid enclosure. By the end of the eighties, the optical disc arrived using lasers to read many times the data and were significantly more economical to use.
The eighties was loud and proud, bold primary colours stood apart from the beige cables. This unique work nods back to the days of the punch card, the original floppy disc and it will look stunning in any space! Each element of this work was hand drawn using a digital medium over many hours to produce this photorealistic artwork with exceptional depth and detail.
Thanks for looking!
